Las Vegas, November, 2006. Snow Falls In Las Vegas After waking one morning and looking out the patio window, we were stunned by this sight. Everyone thinks of Las Vegas as always sunny and hot because we are in the desert.. This is proof that it can snow in Las Vegas and even by several inches. And yes the desert can get cold in the winter. Here it is one year later, November 3, 2007 and the temperature was in the 80's and perfect for hiking or outdoor activity. When it comes to how to dress in the fall for Las Vegas weather, you need to be ready for the unexpected. So often the weather in May in Las Vegas can be close to 100 degrees. For example on May 23, 2001 the high temperature was 105 degrees but on May 23, 2010 we had a HIGH temperature of only 63 and a low that night of 53 degrees with wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour. The temperatures that day were 27 degrees below our normal temperature, needed to break out sweaters instead of shorts and sunscreen. |
